the leading pearl shop in Tahiti, where he learned the intricacies of

highly-specialized business. A year later Scott returned to Honolulu
where he started a wholesale business dealing exclusively in highly
prized Tahitian black pearl jewelry, selling to top retailers such as
Zales, Liberty House (now Macy’s) Maui Divers as well as duty-free
shops. Following four years of wholesale trading, Scott set up his first
retail shop in Haleiwa. I Am Paradise has been a
thriving business for over sixteen years, selling both in-house designs
as well as jewelry from celebrated local designers such as Denny Wong. I
Am Paradise’s product range has expanded to include unique pieces such
as the popular Tahitian coconut fiber jewelry, mabé and uncommonly large
rare Tahitian and South Sea pearls set in striking modern designs using
traditional metals. Scott is also the creator of the popular original
Surfer Pearl jewelry. Scott continues to travel the world in search of
